Brilliant find of a
restaurant!
Jane and Adam - Rotherham

 My
girlfriend and I decided to
give this restaurant a try
after we noticed it had been
added to 'Hi-Life'. I am
glad we did otherwise we
would have still been
blissfully unaware such a
place existed in Rotherham.
The restaurant itself was
very bright and airy, with
modern but tasteful
decoration. The sight of the
open plan kitchen once
upstairs was also very
welcome.
The food itself was
wonderful. Scallops to start
were enormous and cooked to
perfection, complimented
beautifully by the bed of
spinach, cabbage and crème
fraiche. The fillet steak
was equally first class,
cooked to perfection (for
both our tastes) and set off
against the creamy
Dauphinoise potatoes
favourably.
For desserts, an orange and
banana delice and Baileys
chocolate mousse were our
least favourite of the
courses but still very good,
caramelised banana's
especially! The flavours
were just not quite as sharp
or crisp as those within the
first two courses.
I was very sceptical
beforehand on visiting a
restaurant such as this in
Rotherham after being
disappointed many times
before elsewhere, however, I
was more than pleasantly
surprised. The food is some
of the freshest I've had in
South Yorkshire and I would
highly recommend.
The al a carte menu is not
cheap but the food is
superb. However, the 3
courses for £20 is still all
cooked to order and looks
great value, we will be
sampling this next week for
certain! As Rotherham
restaurants go, this is
worth more than 5 trip
advisor circles!

Having previously enjoyed a drink in the downstairs wine bar at Vasco, we were eagerly looking forward to dining out in the upstairs restaurant.
Vasco is one of South Yorkshire’s new dining out venues, and certainly a great addition to the village of Wickersley, Vasco is already earning a great reputation among lovers of fine food as ‘the’ place to enjoy fabulous contemporary English food.
